Bending...Mission Impossible

Week 22 is already gone, and week 23 is here. How quickly the weeks go by! This past week was another busy one. Ian and I registered for Max at Target. That didn't take too long because they have about 10 rows. We decided to wait on Babies R Us, because that place is a tad bit bigger than Target and there is a whole lot of baby stuff to look at. :) We'll take on that challenge soon. Ian handled the scanning of items. I think he felt pretty cool holding the scanner gun. It was a fun time!

We decided on a sports theme for Max's room...shocker right? I actually went shopping last night and got a few things for his room. I got this really cute lamp where the base of it is a bat, and to turn on the light you pull on a whistle. Super cute! Max might not appreciate it anytime soon, but when he's older he'll think it's the coolest thing in his room!

Ian brought home Max's first hockey stick today. He was giving a tour to a client and saw a broken stick on the players bench....so it belonged to Lee Stempniak #22 but now it's Max's. :) He's destined to be a hockey player!

Randomness that you might be interested in knowing. Something that is becoming a bit more of a challenge for me is bending. Bending..should be easy and I'll tell you it's not! I had to tie my shoe last night, and it was a process bending down to do so. I was probably a sight to see! I know the day will come when I can't see my feet...yikes!!

One Pound Man

22 weeks!
                                                         The view from up top!

This week our Max is one pound...at least that's what the books say. With all the back pain, I feel like he's more than a pound! I can't even imagine what it's going to feel like being 9 months pregnant and caring a 7 (hopefully not too much heavier) pound baby around all the time!

We picked out the paint color for Max's room, which was pretty exciting! It's called Tropical Pool, and it's a pale blue. Ian said he should be the one to pick the color, since I picked the name. Not 100% true, but he was so excited about it, I went with it. We started moving things out of Max's room and are putting it in the guest room, which was Ian's "man room." It's hard finding time to get in there and do some work, because we've both been busy with work. I have 22 days left of school. Nope, I'm not counting at all. :) Ian's been busy with the Coyotes, who are in the playoffs. So I feel like we're constantly on the go, and haven't really had time to rest.

We started looking into day cares. That's a process! So many places to see. I went to one yesterday, and loved it. The infant room was cozy, cute, and just being there I knew if we choose this place he would be safe. I know we have until August, but we want to be prepared and not wait until the last minute. I think once we find the place, we'll just know.

We got some exciting news from my cousin Joaquin and his wife Jamie. They are expecting a son of their own in September!! I think he and Max will be best friends, and I'm so glad Jamie and I can share our pregnancy stories with each other!!

Next week I begin my 6 month. Can you believe it?! I feel like just yesterday I'm posting that we're having a baby, and now I'm already going to be 6 months! Meeting Max is just around the corner!!

Wax Winklmann

This has been one crazy week!  I'm 20 weeks, so we're halfway there to meeting our little guy!  We also went to LA for an overnight trip to watch the Coyotes play the Kings.  Yesterday we had Nascar, and today hopefully we REST!!

20 weeks....the little guy is moving more.  He loves to kick and punch me to let me know that he is in my belly!  Not like I could forget.  :)  He has also become our hockey game predictor.  If he's moving up a storm, the Yotes win, if he's sleeping, the Yotes let the other team get a win.  I do feel like he's taking over my belly, and he's letting me know it's his for the next 4 months.

LA...so much fun!  We left Thursday with Dallas and Jessi to watch the Yotes play the Kings.  We stayed downtown, which was about a 4 block walk to Staples Center.  On our walk to Staples, Ian was heckled by a couple of 12 year old girls.  They were oh so clever with the cough that turned into "Coyotes suck." Little did they know that at the end of the night, the Yotes would make a come back and beat the Kings in a shootout.  Young girls...so naive and probably didn't know much about hockey. :)

We got to the game a little early, because we wanted to watch the Yotes during warm up.  I'm so happy we did, because two of the players threw pucks over to us!  It was awesome!  Then to top of our win, we found out that during the game we were on tv!  Luckily they replayed the game, so we were able to record it, so we could watch our tv debuts.

Before we left Friday we went to Santa Monica Pier to walk around.  We stopped at this guy who paints names that are made out of animals or trees.  Very cool looking.  So I told Ian we should get one with our kiddo's name for his room.  We're pretty excited about it, and the guy tells us to come back in about 10 minutes.  We get back to pick it up, and he shows us his hard work.  He painted Wax....don't freak out, we're not naming our kid Wax Winklmann.  It was suppose to say Max, but he was looking at what we wrote upside down.  :)  When Max gets older we can let him know, his name was almost Wax.

Max Donovan Winklmann is the name we decided on. We love the name, and think it will fit our little guy perfectly!

You Can Look, But Don't Touch

I am 20 weeks today.  Halfway there!  I can't believe I'm already 20 weeks and only have 20 weeks to go!  Time is going by so fast.  Before you know it our little guy will be here.  :)

My growing belly is getting bigger as the weeks go by.  I guess to some people that means, "Touch me!"  I have kiddos who are coming up to me and patting my belly or poking it, because they want to say hi to the baby.  Okay, I know it's cute, and they are kiddos, but I don't want little hands all over me.  I've also had a few adults rub my belly, and it's just weird. I'm going to make shirts that say, "You can look, but don't touch."  :)

My family was here this past weekend and it was so nice to see them.  My brother and sister are going to be great at being his uncle and aunt. Our little guy's Grandma and Grandpa brought outfits for him.  He is going to be the best dressed little guy.  His closet is filling up nicely.

Ian and I read Where the Wild Things Are to him last night.  He kicked a few times, which I took as he enjoyed the story.  I think buying books to read to him is in our near future.  Also in our near future, registering for our little man.  Ian with the registering gun...watch out!
