Rocking and Rolling

Max surprised me on Sunday with rolling from his back to his tummy!!  He seems to only be able to do so from his right side, but it's still pretty exciting.  He rolled and then looked at me and laughed!  The best moment!!  I captured his excitement. :)

This weekend we went on a family trek to Tempe Town Lake.  We took Max for a walk.  He loves being outside.  We had to take a quick stop to feed our boy, but he's such the big boy now that he doesn't need us to hold his bottle anymore.  :(

When we got home Ian was cleaning out his car, so I put Max in the trunk.  He thought we were playing, and was having a great time!  Haha!

Ian handed Max a basketball that we got for my brother at the Harlem Globetrotters.  He was full of smiles when he got his hands on the ball.  I think we have a future basketball player on our hands!

This coming weekend Max will have another first....VEGAS!!!  He'll also be watching his first Super Bowl in his Steelers gear. :) I'm sure he'll be saying, "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas."  Stay tuned.....

Here we go Steelers, here we go!

Slobber Monster

Our baby boy is 5 months!!!  Can you believe it?!  He is growing so fast!  He now is a "big" boy and sleeps in his own crib!  He started last Thursday when he turned 5 months!  That's the deal I made with Ian.  It sounded so easy when I made it, but that night I was a MESS!.  I didn't want to leave him in his room, on the other side of the house, all by his little self.  It made me sad. :(  He did absolutely wonderful though!

Max Facts:

-He started eating baby food.  We introduced veggies first, because I knew he'd love fruits!  I was right!  He likes carrots, sweet potatoes, squash,  and green beans.  LOVES apples, bananas, pears and peaches.  HATES peas.

=He has learned to play Peek-A-Boo, which is so flippin' adorable to watch him play.  He'll bring his blanket up over his eyes, and then drop it quickly.  Too cute!  He gets a good giggle out of it as well, which makes us giggle!

=He's teething, which means he's a slobber monster.   The bibs he wears get so soaked throughout the day!  He'll also put anything he can get his hands on, in his mouth.  Watch your fingers!

  Into my mouth it goes!
Tickle, tickle!

Our Growing Boy

I wanted to share pictures that my mom took while visiting.  My parents bought him a saucer for Christmas.  At first it was like sensory overload for him, and he wasn't quite sure what to do.  Within the week he has figured out what to do!!  He actually turns himself all the way around when he gets bored with one of the toys.  It's too cute to watch, and pretty amazing!!!

Uncle Antonio making him smile. :)
So serious and a little tired.
Max can pretty much grab his pacifier out of his mouth and put it back.  He also grabs for his bottle and will hold it by himself!  Pretty exciting for our growing boy!

Max's first Christmas has come and gone, as did our trip to Alaska.  Sad.  Our time in Alaska was awesome!  It truly was like stepping into our own wonderland.  I loved every minute of it, even when the temperature got to -32.  Alaska is wonderful during the summer, but it's so beautiful during the winter.  The snow on the trees was breath taking.  I loved it!!!

While we were there Ian played in a basketball and hockey alumni game.  His team won both games!  It was really cool seeing his school.  It reminded me of the school in Vaughn.  :)  When he played his hockey game it was the first time I've seen him play.  It was amazing!  He played so well, and scored a goal!!  I was a proud wife!!  I was sitting in the heated car taking pictures!

Some  new firsts for Max this trip:

-First plane ride!  Max was a great little traveler!  He fussed some on the plane, but those around us were wonderful and he slept most of the time on all flights.   One of the ladies we sat by wanted to hold him when he was fussy.  I told he was tired and luckily I put him in the sleeper hold and out he went!
-Seeing and holding snow.  Not that he'll remember, but his reaction was priceless.  He hates anything cold or being cold I tell you!
-Max was introduced to rice cereal...umm I don't think he liked it too much and didn't react well to it.  I'm reintroducing it to him now at home, and so far so good.  Fingers crossed!
-Meeting his Auntie Nicole, Uncle Cleo, and cousins Jaden and Amaya.  He took a liking to Jaden and was full of smiles.  Jaden was making him laugh by running up to him and saying, "Ho, ho ho! Merry Christmas!"  It was adorable.
-Meeting Santa.
-Max had his first photo shoot.  Ian and Nicole's high school friend, Eddie, is a photographer and took photos of our families.  The pictures turned out great!  Max did pretty good!  If you'd like to look at the pictures you can go to http://www.jalapenophotography.smugmug.com/ click on Ian and Jen.  The password is Little Bear.

2010 was the year of Max.  It was full of happy memories and great adventures with family and friends.  When I got married, I couldn't imagine life any other way.  Ian made each day that much better.  Life as a mom is the exact same.  Max makes every day better.  Every day with him is a surprise because we never know what he'll do that day.  I can't wait to make many more happy memories and great adventures in 2011.
