Ah!  It's a sound I cannot take!  It's like nails scratching a chalkboard.  Max has started grinding his teeth.  Eagh, just thinking of the sound makes me shudder.  My lovely friend, Kat, told me what she did for Kaylee when she started grinding her teeth.  So hopefully her suggestions will work.  Luckily I know when Max is going to make that awful sound because he puckers up his lips and makes this cute little face. Then that sound comes out of his mouth and I want to fall to the floor covering my ears.  You may think I'm exaggerating, but seriously, I can't take that sound.

Yesterday we planned to have a pajama day, but it only lasted until 1ish.  We eventually decided it was time to get dressed for the day.  Not that we went anywhere.  We stayed home and played foam letters, Elmo, and some toys that make sounds...you know...the usual.  Max is beginning to stand on his own.  He crawled to Ian, stood up, and then let go of Ian.  He stood by himself for a good 20 seconds or so.  We were so proud!  Then Max started playing with the basketball which put a big cheesy grin on Ian's face.  We had a fun family night, minus the grinding sound.  ;)

New Phase?

Don't let the pictures I post fool you.  Max may look all happy, but let me tell you he's been FUSSY!!  After I posted about Mr. Fussy Pants himself, that night he stayed up until 3:00 AM crying up a storm.  We watched Barney, and he calmed down for awhile, but then he'd go back to crying.  We thought it was him teething, but we're thinking maybe it was his tummy.  I was at my wits end though and I think Max sensed this, because once Ian took him from me he calmed down and fell asleep.  :(    Last night Max stayed awake until 11:30 and cried a little bit.  He was really tired though, and fighting sleep.  I hope this isn't a new phase, because it hasn't been fun.

Max has been going to daycare on Tuesdays and Thursdays for half days.  He missed all his friends especially Zerian who is Max's BFF.  He also loves his teachers, which is so nice to see.  I drop him off and he's all smiles and waves goodbye.  Then when I go pick him up, he's usually playing and doesn't even notice I'm there.  I love those moments of just watching him play.

This morning after I dropped him off, I went and got my first ever passport!  I was kinda worried it was going to take along time because it took Ian almost 2 hours.  I went in at 9:15 and was out before 9:45!!  It was so quick!  I'm pretty excited about having a passport.  :)  At the end of July we're going to Washington to go to a friend's wedding.  When we fly in our friends, Spencer and Brenda, are picking us up and taking us back to their house, which happens to be in Canada!  I'm so excited!!!  (If you can't tell)

Sad thought...I only have about 4 1/2 weeks of summer vacation left before I go back to work.  :(

-Max Facts-
~Peas- When trying the baby food puree of peas Max gagged and just about threw-up.  When he tried peas yesterday he LOVED them!  I think he liked that fact that they were like little balls and easy to pick up.  He also discovered that if you bring your hand down fast you can smash them.  Umm...this was something I wasn't too happy about...I had quite a bit of smashed peas to clean up.  Ha!
~Bath time- It's more like let's stand up in the bath time.  Playing with bath toys is so yesterday.  Playing with the shower curtain, standing and banging on the tub, grabbing the shampoo and conditioner is what's fun!
~Tags-Max LOVES tags.  We went to Ross a couple weeks ago and he was in tag heaven.  The aisles are close together so he was grabbing at all the clothes and managed to take off one of the tags....and eat it!  It's like he has a tag radar.  If there's one near by, he'll find it!

-Mommy Facts-
~Running- so I can now run 2 miles without feeling like I'm going to die.  By the end of July I'm hoping to be able to run at least 4 miles without stopping.  My half marathon isn't until Nov., so I still have plenty of time.  I'm determined to run all 13.1 miles.
~Dr. appts- I have an eye doctor appointment coming up in July...which makes me nervous.  I just want the doc to tell me my eyes are a-ok with no inflammation.  (Crossing my fingers)
~Baby weight- sucks.  The way I feel about women who had no morning sickness and the perfect pregnancy is the same way I feel about women who have their baby and are back to their normal weight in like 2 weeks.  Gag me.

Until next time...hopefully I'll have a less fussy baby and a little less baby weight.  Haha!!  :)

Daddy put gel in my hair!

Drinking from my sippy cup, because that's what I do.

Mr. Fussy Pants

I'd like to say that it's been all fun and giggles in Mommyhood, but it hasn't.  Max has 4 teeth cutting through his gums on the top, and it has been a long painful process for Mr. Max.  At first he was somewhat fussy, nothing out of the usual.  Now he's not only fussy, but has a low grade fever and only wants me to hold him.  He is not a happy camper by any means, and we're all wanting this teething business to be over!

Max and his Daddy matched in their polos with a white trim.

We went to Arizona Mills with my family and had to take
a picture next to this cool guy.

Do I look like him Mommy?

Max's Uncle and Auntie.  Love them!

The Big 1-0!

Max is 10 months today!!  In 2 months he'll be ONE!!!  My little baby is growing too fast! :( It seems like just yesterday he was placed in my arms and now is a rowdy 10 month old.  *tear*

Max Facts
-Food-We all know Max loves to have his bottle, but he is now loving solid foods!  Who would have thought from my past posts?  He was from his disgusted shivers/gags to actually enjoying the foods I place in front of him.  He has tried corn, tortellini, and chicken nuggets this past week and has liked them all!  Yes!!  He's also more on a schedule when it comes to feeding, and only 24 oz of formula a day.
-Teeth-He has gone from 2 to 6!  He has the 2 on the bottom and 4 on top.  The 4 on top are all coming in at once, so he has been a bit fussy.
-Messes-Max is an expert at making messes now.  In the morning all his toys will be where they should be, and in about 2.5 seconds he has every toy out.  He does play with them, which is fun to watch, but I have to teach them how to put them back! :)
-Walking-No don't freak out he can't walk yet, but he will walk when holding my hands or his Daddy's hands. We're trying to do more of that, because it's Ian's goal to get him walking this summer.

Beep Beep!

Max loves playing in his tub! :)

Yum this is good Mommy!

All done! Yay!

Happy Father's Day!!

Happy Father's Day Daddy!!

Well not only is today Father's Day, but my Mom's birthday!!  Happy Birthday Mom!!  I hope you have a great day!

To my Dad....I'm so lucky I get to call you Dad.  You are such a big part of my life.  Thank you for always taking care of me.  I'm so glad God brought you into Mom's life.  I'll never forget the day you and mom got married, because that's when I got my dad.   :)  I love you!

<3 Max is lucky to have you as a Grandpa!

You my Love are an amzing dad to Max.  He is so blessed to have you as his Daddy.  When he grows up he's going to want to be just like you!  Thank you for making Max laugh, playing with him for hours, making him a bottle in the middle of the night, and most importantly for loving him.  We love you!!

Now for the not so serious/mushy stuff!  The day started off with me making Ian an AMAZING breakfast!  Ha!  Well...I wouldn't saying amazing, but it was made with l-o-v-e!  Then Max handed his Daddy a card that we had made just for today.  It turned out great!  Max also picked out a few gifts for his Daddy that we just had to buy!  We got him a divot tool for golf that was Steelers...naturally.  He also got a #1 Dad Steelers shirt, that he's wearing today!!  Max also thought it would be cool to get his Daddy an iPad....this Max had to talk me into, but once I realized that Max was right and his Daddy would love it, I caved.   :)  I'm also giving Ian full control of the remote today, which means I'll have to watch HOURS of golf.

I hope all you fathers out there have a great day!!!

Wink Burger...well my version. :)

#1 Dad!!

Shirt says it all.

Max's First Haircut!!

Max got his first haircut yesterday!  He was such a good boy!  I was very impressed with the barber.  He did an excellent job.  Ian held Max facing him the whole time, and the barber worked his magic!  He said that people usually come in with babies from 6 months to a year, so it's not like people don't cut babies hair.
I'm not in any pictures because I was the paparazzi.  :)

Hmm..what is he going to do Daddy?

Do I have to wear this?  I look silly!

Mr. Cool with slicked back hair.

Snip snip!

I'm not sure about this haircut....

Ah! You cut how much off?!

Almost done!

I look good!

After the haircut Max got a certificate that had his long curl taped to it.  It also said that he's out of the babyhood with his haircut, and really he doesn't look like a baby anymore.  He's a little boy, which makes me a little sad because he's growing so fast.  It also makes me excited for what's to come with Max.  <3

On June 14, 2008 I married my best friend.  It was a perfect day, and we were able to share it with family and friends.  I can't believe it was 3 years ago.  Looking at the pictures, it feels like just yesterday......

You may kiss the bride.

Mr. and Mrs. Winklmann!!

You better not shove that in my face!

I love you Ian!!  Happy Anniversary!!

The Gate

This weekend we made a trip to Babies R Us and purchased a couple of gates for our house to trap Max in the living room!  Max is a crawling machine and is ALL over the house.  I spend most of my time chasing him out of the kitchen or the work room.  He knows he shouldn't go and when we call him, he stops, looks at you, and then crawls away super fast.  So needless to say by the end of the day I am exhausted!!

When we put up the gate, Max thought it was a new toy.  He was so excited and happy about this new thing that he can climb up on!  Now that he's figured out it keeps him out of the kitchen, he's not too happy about it.  He'll also go stand up by it, and throw his pacifier over to the other side.  He's probably thinking, "Ha Mommy, you might keep me out of there, but you'll have to go get my paci!"  I'm a thinker though, and we have about a million pacifiers laying around, so he can throw them over all his wants!

The gate!

This won't stop me Mommy!

I want over there!

So on Tuesday night I decided to cut my hair. Before I show you the picture I want you to know I said I wanted it just below by shoulder with layers at the bottom.  The lady does her thing, which isn't what I said, and then asks if I like it.  Umm...no, but what's the use in saying that because she can't put my hair back.   This is the outcome.......

Hmm..I guess here it doesn't look that short, but it feels really short.

Luckily it will grow back!!

Another Winklmann is getting a haircut next week.  Max!!  We are going to get that combover/toupee patch of hair cut!  Ian's barber, who has a son a month or so younger than Max, will be putting his skills to the test.  I think we're both excited about it, because it's another "first" for Max.   :)

Tuesday (June 14th) is a big day in the Winklmann household.  Ian and I will be celebrating 3 years of marriage!  Yes!!  No mushy, gag worthy comments I swear!  However I may post our wedding song, and him and I might dance to it, and there might be a wedding photo or two, and.....just maybe I might say a few sentences about how I feel about the husband.  I promise you won't roll your eyes and feel like puking. ;)  Until then!!

This is how I roll.

In the traveling, sadness, graduation celebration I forgot to blog about a certain little beauty who came into the family.  My cousin, Diondra (who I remember as a little girl that followed me and her sister around) welcomed this gorgeous little girl into her life.

Proof my baby boy is growing up.....oh and he's cutting his two top front teeth!

Max actually plays with his toys now....and makes messes!

Look at that smile and his bottom teeth!

Standing boy.

We just came back from a walk and I went to turn
on the dryer...I came back and found Max like this!!

Who needs toys when you have clothes baskets?
