Another year has come and gone, and I'm left asking myself, "Where did the time go?"  It's like two blinks and the year goes by super fast.  One blink I have a baby/toddler who is babbling, in need of a haircut...two blinks he's now a toddler with attitude, talking, charming mister who tries to stall going to bed at night.

Max, I love watching you grow each day and seeing what fun/trouble you can get into around the house.  I've loved watching your little hand grow with each crafty project we've done for the holidays.   I've loved hearing your sweet voice go from babbles to fierce "I do it!" or your sweet "Love you, to the moon and back, to infinity and beyondddd!"   We've had a wonderful, full of fun year as a family of 3.  I can't wait to see you as a big brother to your sister.  Hopefully you are as sweet to her as you are to K. :)  I love you, to the moon and back, to infinity and beyond!

Ian, you have grown and changed so much this year as well.  You went from an Account Executive (I think that was your title) to a Manager for Inside Sales with the Coyotes.  I think you've flourished in this role, and I'm so proud of you.  You've also taken a love for running and are training for the half marathon in January.  I have to say though, it makes me a tad bit jealous I'm not running it with you. You are such a great Daddy to Max, and the kid adores and loves you to the moon and back.   Once our Little Miss blesses us with her presence, she is going to be such a Daddy's Girl.  Thank you for all the memories this year...from Reno, to Canada, and Alaska, to just bringing me a glass of water when my morning sickness was bad.   Not many people could do that...I so couldn't do that for you because I'd end up puking as well.  Thank goodness you don't get morning sickness!  One more mushy thing to you to end this great year. I love you

Me....well I'd like to think I've changed this year.   I hope that I became a better mom as each day went by.   Health wise or eye wise we've had major improvements in that department.  Not eating meat has been hard, especially this pregnancy when all I want is a cheeseburger!  No inflammation in my eyes, means no stress, which means I'm one happy camper...which means no cheeseburger.   I also went from being a 3rd grade teacher, to working at PCA, to being a SAHM and spending my days with Max and K.  I have LOVED being able to stay at home.  Pure fun and precious time I get with my little man.

I'm sad to see another year end, but so excited for 2013.  We have so many adventures to go on this coming year!  We have two new additions coming to our family (our Little Miss in May, and a nephew in Feb!).   Ian and I will celebrate FIVE years of marriage.   Trips to Seattle and Chicago, and who knows where else!  We are ready for 2013!

To family and friends, thank you for being a part of our lives and making this year memorable.

I hope you all have a wonderful New Years and that
2013 is the best year yet for you and your loved ones!!

Baby Size: Mango
Maternity Clothes: Mixing regular clothes and maternity clothes.
Today I'm wearing all non maternity clothes.
Stretch marks: Nope. Give it time.  They will magically appear.

Sleep:  This morning I was awake from about 2:45-4:30ish, but the past few nights I had been sleeping surprisingly well.
Best Moment of the Week: Spending time with the family in NM.

Belly Button in or out: IN!

What I am looking forward to: Seeing Max grow more and more each day.  His sticker chart is almost full of stickers from going to the potty!  His sentences are becoming more clearer, though he still rambles like he's speaking Chinese.
Nursery: Still the guest bedroom as of right now.
Emotions: HAPPY!
Next Doctors Appointment: Ultrasound Jan. 7th and seeing Dr. S the 8th!

Christmas Wrap-up

Well hello bloggy friends!  I'm here!  I know I still need to do an 18 week bump update, which I hopefully get to later today.  We've had a busy few days.   We went to Las Cruces to spend Christmas with my family.

While there we......
went to an NMSU basketball game.  I never went to many in college.  Back then I was all about tailgating and football.  Go figure.   At the game they had Santa there to be paparazzied by parents like me. We took three pictures and Max would not smile.  I think Santa creeps him out a bit.  He did enjoy the candy cane and saying goodbye to the jolly guy.   He also enjoyed the game!  NMSU won, and we were all happy!  I bought an NMSU shirt while there, happily telling the nice lady that I graduated back in 2005 (wow I'm old!) and she kindly smiled, but I don't think she cared at all.  At the start of the game they hung a bear, which was the mascot of the team we played.  It was kind of scary.  It hung right between the flags, so we stared at it through the National Anthem.  Bit much, if I do say so myself.

We also....
went bowling!  They had little shoes for Max to wear.  Oh they were so cute!  Max LOVED bowling!  His first game he scored a 68, but the second game he scored a 90, which even beat my sad score of 71.  I'm not the greatest bowler.   Every time Max was up to bowl, he'd watch his ball slowly make it's way done the lane, clap because pins fell, and then yell "YES!" and do his little arm pump.   My kid is so freakin adorable.

We also decorated and ate....
my Mom's amazing sugar cookies.  She seriously makes the best sugar cookies I've ever had.   It was about 10:00 at night and we were in full force decorating the cookies.  At first Alicia and I were trying to be all cutesie and artistic, but then we eventually lost the loving feeling of decorating.  Antonio and my Dad helped as well.  Max and Ian helped...well eating them.

We also made my Grandma Molly's Chocolate Peppermint Bars.  I, of course, forgot to take pictures while making them.  When I think of Christmas, I think of these peppermint bars.  I remember frosting them with red and green frosting with my cousin, Jose.   I was super excited to make them.  My Mom and Dad started making them because I took a nap with my little man.  I did help once I woke up, and you better believe I helped eating them.  So. Good.  I tell you, it's like Christmas in your mouth.

Max also had a play date with his cousin, Jax.  We didn't take pictures. (I know, bad!)  Max loved all of Jax's toys, especially the ones Jax was playing with.  There was definite reminding of sharing going on for that little boy.  (My boy that is)  We also got to meet sweet Jaylee, who is just 5 weeks old.  I forgot how tiny newborns are....made me so excited about the little bun in my oven.   Jaylee is so flippin adorable.  She is a spitting image of her Daddy.  We had fun on our play date, and Max and Jax were able to see each other a lot more at Grandma Grace's as well.

Christmas Eve...

was family fun.  I love my parent's Christmas tree.  It's always so pretty.  We opened gifts at home before heading to Grandma Grace's.  Max was excited with every gift he opened.  He'd yell, "Oh my gosh!"  "Carssss!"  "Choo-choo trainnnnn!"  He was beyond excited.  Pure happiness watching his excitement.

Christmas day Ian and I went to church.  The priest was Father Ray.  He married us 4 1/2 years ago, so it was really special to celebrate Christmas mass with him.

Joaquin got this gift for Christmas from his parents, and Jax loved it.  Max saw Jax playing with it, and wanted to love it too.  Jax, being the sweet kiddo he is, let Max play with it.  I think my kid pretty much thought it was his toy after that.  He'd try and make a basket, then say "Yes! I did it!", and go around and high five his cousins.  My son is a show off.

I hope you all had a wonderful, fabulous, Merry Christmas with your loved ones!

Christmas for 3

Last night we had our family Christmas.  We do this before we go to LC or AK for the holidays.  Max loved opening gifts!  He kept going back for more.  It didn't matter that the gift said for Daddy, he wanted to tear the paper off the package and hand it to Daddy.  He calmed down a little, but he's favorite part was unwrapping the gifts.  He would get super excited when he would see what was under the wrapping paper.  I mean, yells, Ohhhhs, squeals of delight.  It was so cute.   This kid makes my heart so happy

Christmas 2012

He was sitting so nice, but inside he was
itching to tear those presents open!

He got some awesome Cars skates with knee pads
that he had to try the very second he opened them up!

What's in a Name?

When we were pregnant with Max, that's the only boy name we had.  Now the only girl name I have (which is one that I loved when I was pregnant with Max before we knew for certain that he was a Max) is Ava.   Does Ian like the name? No.  Do I like the name?  More like I love the name.   Ian, Jen, Max and Ava.  Flows right?  Well, in my mind it does.   :)   If the lovely name doesn't grow on Ian it's good that we have backups.  As of right now...there are no backups.  Luckily we still have plenty of time to come up with a list.   It's just hard, because when you throw out a name, and you think of someone that you once knew, it ruins that name for you.  I was a teacher for 7 years and had many students with many names.  There will be many names we will not use.  Ha!

Then there's the whole, "Do we share the name we pick before baby comes or wait until baby gets here?"  When we chose Max there were people who let us know they didn't like his name (even after he was born!).  It was hurtful and rude.  There are names that people in this world picked for their children that we weren't sure of, but we would never make comments about it, because it's not our place or our kid.  They obviously gave thought to the name and it means something to them, so who are we to make them feel like crap for choosing a name that wouldn't make our list of fav names?  Now when we look at Max...he's definitely a Max, and I couldn't picture him with any other name.   So in a few months if we decide to share the baby's name or when we introduce her to you and call her by name, if you don't like her name...please keep it to yourself.  Unless I tell you we're going to name her after a fruit or toy, then you can tell me something.   If you ask Max and he gives you a name, don't believe him.   He's still convinced we're going to name her Mater and she's a boy.

Sweet Tree

I know the picture in the up right corner looks like Max is flashing a West side sign, but I can assure you, our Christmas tree making was not gang affiliated. :)

We decorated sugar cones with frosting, sprinkles, candy and chocolate chips.  Well...I actually frosted the cones.  I didn't want it to get too messy!  Max and K had so much fun decorating their tree, licking their fingers of frosting, and eating all the candy that fell off or never made it to the tree.  Max dumped loads of sprinkles on his plate, but missed his tree.  Maybe he was trying to make it look like colorful snow. :)  This was one yummy Christmas activity!

17 Weeks!

All you get is the bump this week.  No smiling face
from me...I'm not feeling too well this morning.

How Far Along:  17 Weeks!
Baby Size: Turnip
Maternity Clothes: Mixing regular clothes and maternity clothes.
Stretch marks: Nope.
Weight gain: 6.5 lbs.  (My appetite has been all over the place.  One day I'm hungry and everything looks good, other days food is the last thing I want...)
Sleep:  Usually awake from 2:00-4:00 in the morning, but last night I slept the whole night!
Best Moment of the Week: Watching Max skate on the ice for the first time with a tiny pair of skates.
Movement:  I can't feel kicks all the time, but when I'm sitting still I can feel the babes move.
Food Cravings:  None this week...I tell ya I'm having a love/hate relationship with food.
Gender:  My lack of patience got the better of me. :) Girl!
Belly Button in or out: IN!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Morning sickness has made a come back, but nothing too bad.  Nothing in particular is making me sick, but I feel nauseous when I wake up.
Wedding ring on or off: On.
What I miss: Nothing to do with pregnancy, but I kinda miss snow.  I'm not a fan of snow, but now that Max is older, I think it would be so fun to play in with him.
What I am looking forward to: Going to NM!
Nursery: Just a thought.
Emotions:  Since Friday I've been a sobbing mess while watching the news or reading articles on Sandy Hook.  Ian told me I need to stop reading the articles, because I get too upset.  The whole thing just breaks my heart. :(
Next Doctors Appointment: Jan 8th with Dr. S!

Finger painting fun...more like soaking the paper with water.  So Max won't be a finger painting artist, he can for sure be a water soaking paper artist.

Loving: I love that I get to stay home and spend my days with Max and K.  It's so much fun to watch them play, hear them giggle, and listen in on their conversations.

Reading: I'm currently not reading anything.  Boo!!  I need to find a good book or series to get into, but until then I will read gossipy magazines, and which ever book Max brings to me to read to him.

Watching: All my favorite shows had a winter finale...when did that start?  I'm loving all the Christmas movies on Hallmark.  I could easily put it on that channel and leave it there all day.  Oh and I love my GH..soapy, cheesy, predictable, I could so be a writer for, soap opera.

Listening to: Children's Christmas station on Pandora.  Max and K love it!   Can you believe I haven't listened to NSYNC's Christmas cd?!

Thinking about: Why people are so quick to judge.  I know I'm plenty guilty of this, but when it comes to family and friends....sometimes someone just needs support and love not judgement. I think we all need to think about how our comments truly affect those that we love.

Looking forward to: Seeing my family this weekend!!

Making me happy: Hearing good news from friends, having a healthy family, finding out Baby W is a girl,  seeing all the cute girly clothes at Target, watching Max and K, who are the best of friends.

First Time on Skates

This Saturday Max put on his first pair of skates and took to the ice.   Well before that fun he met the big jolly guy.  Max was not impressed.  He was napping on the way to the arena and we had to wake him up, so I think he was still a bit groggy.  There were no smiles.  When Santa, "Ho Ho Ho"ed Max just stared at him.  Then he took a picture surrounded by the pack dancers and not even their colorful pompoms made him smile.

Then he put on his first pair of skates and our groggy little boy was so happy and excited.  He looked so stinkin' cute in the little skates.  When Ian put him on the ice he pretty much loved it.  Ian skated around with him, had him sit in the penalty box, and let him skate while holding his hands.  Max was soaking it all in.  He handled getting off the ice really well.  No tantrums.  True hockey player in the making.

The minute we got home he ran and got his hockey net, stick, puck and started playing hockey.   My little hockey player.

Blue or Pink??

So last night we went to our friends and opened up our Christmas bag to see which socks would be waiting for us.

Baby W is a GIRL!!!!!
Opening the bag and pulling out the pink socks...we're having a girl. A girl! Mel took a video of the whole thing and we sent it to our famly.  We celebrated with sparking grape juice (for me) and champagne for those who get to enjoy alcohol.  Max was passed out for the night, and slept through all the excitement.  We played a couple games of Sorry where the girls totally kicked butt!  Girl power!
This morning Ian told Max, "You're having a sister!" and Max says, "No I'm not."  Then Ian told him, "Yes, the baby is a girl!" to which Max responded, "No it's not."  So somebody is in denial.....he has 24 weeks or so to get use to the idea :).

Girl or Boy??

When I was pregnant with Max we decided that we were going to find out what we were having in front of family and friends.  We bought a pair of girl socks and boy socks.  We placed them into a bag, and then when we went to find out the gender, we had the technician place the bag with the socks that went with our baby into a separate bag and remove the sticky notes.  With this baby we're not suppose to find out the gender until Jan 7th, but my lack of patience got the better of me.  I want to be able to tell family for Christmas whether Baby W is a girl or boy.   So we're going to do the same thing with this little one.
We're finding out tomorrow, December 14th.   Then we're going over to our friends house and we're going to open a Christmas bag to see what our little gift is....I CAN'T WAIT!!!
For the record, I'll be happy if this little one is a girl, and I'll be just as happy if this little one is a boy.  Last night I asked Max if he was having a brother what should we name him.  He said Mater (from Cars).  Mater Daddy.  If he's having a sister he wants to name her Jbo Pap-pap Mum-mum .  We couldn't stop laughing, because he was being so serious.  I will say it right now.  Neither one of those names will be the name of our baby.  :)
*I wrote this on Thursday.  At this very moment we know the gender of Baby W.  We'll share the news later today or tomorrow.  By we I mean me. :)  Might as well vote so those of you who guess right can say, "I knew you were having a ___!"

Sugar Cookie

Today Max and K decorated their own sugar cookie.  It's so funny to sit and watch them, because they have serious looks on their faces, and they place each candy piece with careful fingers.   In the end they were so very proud of their cookies.

Christmas Crafts

Max and K love doing crafts.  They get pretty excited when I pull out the crayons, glue, markers, and construction paper.  Today we made Rudolph hats and a stocking like I used to make in school.  They had fun gluing the cotton balls on to the top of the stocking.  When it comes to gluing, I put the glue on the craft and then the kiddos have the freedom of putting the cotton balls, eyes, red nose down by themselves.  They are becoming experts!

Rudolph Hat w/ handprint antlers, stocking, and handprint wreath.

Footprint Snowmen

We have plenty more crafts that I'll be sure to post pictures of.  These are all craft ideas from Pinterest (like you didn't know!).

16 Weeks

PS. I'm just going to be that girl taking pictures of herself.

I found a blog that I love (Flight, Fiction & Everything Nice) and these are the questions she answers, and I liked the layout of these questions more than the ones I was answering before.
How Far Along: 16 Weeks!
Baby Size: Avocado
Maternity Clothes: Mixing regular clothes and maternity clothes.
Stretch marks: None yet, but I expect them to make an appearance.
Weight gain:  5 lbs (by this time with Max I'm pretty sure I had gained around 15 lbs)
Sleep:  Meh, some nights are better than others.
Best Moment of the Week:  Feeling the babes really move, like really move.
Movement:  Yes!  If I'm really still I can feel some solid kicks and punches.
Food Cravings:  Those chocolate oranges that only come out at Christmas time.  I may have to stock up on some. :)
Gender:  Jan 7th is the day we find out!! But I'm trying to talk Ian into getting a 4d sonogram done, but so far he's not interested.  I'm tempted to go on my own.  Can you tell I'm lacking in patience?
Belly Button in or out: IN! Thank goodness!  Please oh please belly button stay in.
Anything making you queasy or sick:  I made a pasta meal for Ian and I was cleaning the pan afterwards.  I seriously was gagging.  I freaked Max out with my lovely sound effects.
Labor Signs: .No, and I better not have any for the next 21 weeks or so.  If he/she wants to come after 37 weeks I'm perfectly fine with that.
Wedding ring on or off:  On.
What I miss: I'm by no means a drinker..I'd have the occasional drink, but now that I'm pregnant all I want is a bloody mary or a blue moon.  The smell of beer makes my mouth water.
What I am looking forward to: Finding out the gender of the babes!
Nursery: Nonexistent
Emotions:  Depends on the day, but I've been pretty happy.  Laughing up a storm at Ian's jokes, which rarely happens...well because he's not funny, I'm the funny one.  ;) Kidding!  If I'm sad or upset though, the tears fall freely.
Next Doctors Appointment: Jan 8th with Dr. S!

Christmas Marshmallows

I was on Pinterest looking at some holiday treats to do with the kiddos.  I found this one where you take jumbo marshmallows, dip in chocolate, and then sprinkles.  I thought that would be fun for the kiddos.  Instead of using jumbo marshmallows, I used the mint medium sized ones. (I didn't want them to get too sugared up)  I melted chocolate chips in little bowls for them.  Poured some red and green sprinkles for them to decorate their yummy treat with, and let them at it.  Well, I showed them how to do it first, which took great patience on their part because they were itching to grab the marshmallows and eat away!  To say they had fun is an understatement!  Each marshmallow (they got 5) they ate, tasted better than the one before.  At least that's what I got from their stuffed little mouths and the "Mmmm" coming out.  Once they were done they were a giggling mess.  Watching them run around, scream, laugh, sing at the top of their lungs is having me question how many marshmallows I gave them.......

Max was so proud of his snowman.
Every snowman needs a friend.  K's foot is so tiny compared to Max's big footprint.

Christmas Fun!

Now that Max is 2, the Christmas season is so fun!  He gets excited about all the lights! We have a Santa Christmas Countdown so he's familiar with the old jolly guy...well maybe.  We'll see how he does when he goes to see him.  Seeing the joy on his face though, and hearing the excitement in his voice is the best

Friday night we made a gingerbread house.  Max took this as a serious job, and each candy was placed with extreme concentration.  He would accidentally put his hand in the frosting and say, "uh-oh!" and then lick his little fingers.  The occasional candy would somehow end up in his mouth.  At first Ian and I tried to help him along and make the house look like the one on the box, but Max had more fun sticking candy where ever the heck he wanted (including his mouth).   The finished product is now part of our Christmas decorations.

Yesterday we spent the majority of the day out and about running errands, shopping, and the most exciting part was going to Zoo Lights.  While we were at dinner we told him where we were going and he started jumping up and down and yelling.  He tried climbing over me so we could get the show on the road.  Seriously, this kid is too cute.   We met Mel and Jakub there and the zoo parking lot was full so we had to park in the A's parking lot, which is kind of a walk away.  There were just tons of people.  When we got to the zoo the lines were kinda long to get in, but it honestly wasn't bad.  Once we were in, the lights were awesome.  Max loved every light he saw.   He saw giraffes, butterflies, spiders, rabbits, a dragon and wizards...there was so much to see.  The lights were so pretty and bright.  By the end of our night my feet were killing me, but we had so much fun.  :)  Max was asleep within 5 mins of getting into the car.

This week Max and K are going to continue making Christmas crafts AND they are going to decorate an upside down sugar cone with green frosting to make their own Christmas trees.  There will be messes, and there will most definitely be pictures.

I hope you guys had a great weekend!  Enjoy your Sunday!

Look at the seriousness on his face.  :)

Max's house!

Zoo lights!

One tired little boy.

Doogie Howser

So today was my doctor appointment.  I didn't see my normal doctor because of the ER fiasco on Tuesday.  They took me back the minute I got there, but then I waited for about half an hour before this new guy came in.  I can't remember his name, but we'll call him Doogie Howser, because I'm certain he was younger than me...not that there is anything wrong with that.   We talked about my ER visit and without going into detail, because I'm sure the blog world doesn't need to know or want to know, he was shocked that I wasn't kept in the hospital for a couple days.  Then said I was diagnosed wrong (story of my life).  Freak me out!  The more he talked, the more freaked out and stressed I was getting.  Then midway through his lecture ( I should have gone to the hospital that I'm going to deliver in, but I was so sick I went to the one close to my house. Oops) he stops to tell me how well Max is playing Angry Birds on the iPad.   Thank you Doogie, I taught him well.

Then he hands me these brochures that have to do with the 3rd trimester and after baby comes.  Dude, I just started my 2nd trimester...let me enjoy it.  The one awesome paper he handed me and I liked him for that split second, was the order for my ultrasound to see the bambino and figure out if Max is having a sister or brother.  I can't wait!  I have to call tomorrow and set it up.  Yay!

So Doogie managed to freak/stress me out and make me happy all in a span of 15 minutes!  Oh, and then we heard the baby's heartbeat.  Max pointed to his ear, and said, "Listen."  Then we heard it and he got so excited.  I don't know if it's because he heard the heartbeat or figured out he could turn on a light with a wave of his hand.  The heartbeat was 156.  It's so crazy how much you can love someone when you haven't met them yet.

I hope future doctor visits don't include Doogie.  He's perfectly nice, but I don't want to be freaked out again.  So next appt is with Dr. S.  ;)  What an eventful week this has been.   With that, Happy Thursday!!

15 Weeks

I had Ian take the picture and he was sitting down angling my phone up, so I promise I'm not as tall as our Christmas tree.  I'm dying of laughter from this picture.  So funny.
How far along: 15 weeks! (Yesterday during our little trip to the ER, the baby was measuring 15w4d)
Baby's size: size of a large navel orange (my app still says the same fruit, but yesterday the tech said the baby was 4 oz.
Sleep: The past couple nights I've actually slept okay.  Last night I was up a million times and was wide awake from 11-2:30.

Maternity Clothes: Yup, but I mostly wear my regular shirts, and I have a couple of non maternity pants that still fit me.   I love maternity pants though...they are just comfy.

Food cravings: Ummm...none at the moment.  I'm feeling really nauseous, so food isn't sounding so good.

Food aversions: Pork chops.  I made some for Ian a couple days ago, and the smell of them was making me gag.  Blah!  Even just thinking about it makes me want to puke.

Symptoms I have: I've been getting headaches quite frequently.  Boo!

Doctor’s Appointment: Had to reschedule it, so it's tomorrow.

Movement: Still feels like the navel orange is turning flips.

Belly Button: Innie and I hope to God it stays that way. Outie bellybuttons creep me out! (I will keep this sentence in hopes that my bellybutton doesn't pop out.)

Gender: We'll find out soon!

What I’m looking forward to: Feeling the baby really kick and punch around in my belly.

What I miss: Nothing.  I'm content today.
So this baby is trying to make this pregnancy just as eventful as Max's if not more.  I had to pay a visit to the ER yesterday.  I couldn't hold anything down and ended up getting super dehydrated.  I ended up needing 2L of fluid, which to me looked like a lot.   The whole stay wasn't too bad.  Well...minus the 5 vials of blood they took.  I have the bruise to show for it.  I did get to see the bambino on an ultrasound.  They wanted to make sure the babes was fine because I was having stomach pains.  The tech was taking pictures and called the baby a "he" and I almost had a heart attack!!  She then corrected herself and said it's too early to tell, but she did try and look. Such a tease!  I was kinda hoping she'd know for sure what the little one is.  I could totally keep a secret and act like I didn't know...probably not.   She said the baby was measuring at 15w4d with a due date of May 24th, and the heartbeat was around 166.   Today I am resting it up, eating crackers, and drinking plenty of water.

Day of Fun

The day Max stayed with K and played.  They played in a tent, went to the park, fed the ducks, went down slides, and had a ton of fun!!   He loves spending time with K.  :)

The Big 3-0!

Thirty, flirty, and thriving....according to 13 Going on 30.  :)  That's all I could think of leading up to my birthday.  I just remember being in elementary school and thinking 30 was old.  My teachers were old, parents were old....I was never going to be old.  Now I know that back then all the adults around me were not old.   What can I say....I was young.

Saturday kicked off my bday celebration.  Shoot, if I was turning 30, I was going to make a weekend out of it.  Our friends, Leslie and Josh, were awesome and watched Max for us while we went to the movies.  Not just any movie theater, but only the coolest one I've ever been to!  We went to iPic Theater in Scottsdale.  On the way there Ian had been joking about them serving us candy in a glass bowl.  We get there and it's a pretty swanky place.  We went into the theater and they walked us to our seats, which came with our own pillows and blankets.  We had a nice server lady.  We ordered our food before the movie, and they brought us our candy in a martini glass.  We saw Skyfall, which I have to say I really liked.  The whole iPic experience was awesome!  I definitely want to go back!

That night we went to the Beachy's to help put up their Christmas lights...well Ian.  I chatted it up with Laura and we watched the kiddos play and make messes.  They made me my favorite dessert for my bday.  When I was younger my mom would make me the yellow no bake cheese cake.   There in their fridge was a yellow no bake cheese cake!!  So yummy, and nice of them to remember that was my fav.  :)

Sunday, the big day.  I woke up to bday wishes on facebook, twitter, and phone calls.  It's always nice to feel special on your bday.  I love that friends take the time out of their day to wish me a happy bday.  I love to respond to each one of them too.  Mel and Jake came over to watch the Steelers game, which they won! Woot woot!  Mel also made me a chocolate peppermint cake.  Y'all know this pregnant lady loves her chocolate!

So now I'm 30.  30.  It's just so crazy to me how time goes by so fast.  I remember in elementary school I couldn't wait to be a grown up.  In high school I couldn't wait to graduate.  Then I graduated and life went in fast forward.  In a blink of an eye I went from 18 to 30.  I'm really excited about this year.  We'll welcome a new addition to our family, which I'm so happy about.  I'm thirty, flirty, and thriving!!  :)

Thanks again for all the birthday love.  I felt it.
