Treasure Hunt

Saturday we took a spontaneous trip to Bainbridge Island.  Last time we went we walked onto the ferry and then had to walk around Bainbridge.  This time we drove on to the ferry, which was pretty easy.  We parked the car, and then headed up top to look at the water.  Emma was a baby last time we went so she was really excited about seeing the water.  Max was full of questions.  "Are there sharks out there?" "Will we see a whale?"

It was ridiculously windy when we went outside to look at the views and both kiddos weren't fans.  So we went back inside to enjoy the ride over to the island.  It's a quick 30 minute ride. It's also smooth, so if you get motion sickness on boats (like me) no worries, there will be no sickness on the ferry.

When we got to Bainbridge we decided to go check out downtown Poulsbo.  It was so beautiful out. We parked our car and headed out to explore.  We went down by the dock to check out all the boats.

Ian had told Max we were on a treasure hunt to find the best ice cream. Max got excited when he spotted a place that served ice cream and yelled, "I found the treasure!" and he excitedly pointed to Dairy Queen. Little did he know the place we were going was a million times better.  Our hunt ended us at Mora and it was so amazingly delicious.  We got strawberry for Emma and Chocolate for Max.  It was so creamy.  Emma liked hers until she tried Max's, and then she wanted nothing to do with the strawberry goodness.  She is a lover of chocolate, just like her mama. If you are ever in the area, I highly recommend you go on a treasure hunt and find Mora.  You won't be sorry.

After we left Mora we were going to go to Cafe Nola to grab lunch before heading back to the ferry, but it closed at 3:00.  We were headed to it at 2:53.  So we found ourselves at a beach park.  It was pretty chilly out, but so beautiful.  The kiddos got a quick play in on the playground.  Including Ian who had just as much fun, if not more.

I love when Emma runs to Ian and yells, "Daddy!" It's the sweetest thing ever.

Max was trying to put his hood on, because it was windy out.  This kid is so cute.  He had so much fun.  He threw walks into the water, and searched for seashells.

This girl is so independent and so fearless.  She did not want to hold my hand.  She wanted to do all that Max was doing, reminding me that she is not a baby.

I hope you are having a great weekend! It's another sunny day here, so I'm thinking we may end up outside.
