Emma Turns Two!

I can't believe this girl is TWO.  I look at her now, and she seems so much older.  She acts like a diva who is 13.  She is a chatter box who is bossy.  She's quick to say, "Sorry!"  She gives the best hugs, and kisses you on the cheek and sweetly says, "No wipey!" (Daddy taught her this because she loves to wipe off kisses.) She definitely has attitude like you wouldn't believe, and puts her hands on her hips when she means business.  She has the sweetest laugh.   When we were talking about her turning two I asked her if it was going to be "terrible two" or "terrific twos" and she tilted her head to think and then said, "Terrible!"  I believe her.

Emma Girl,
Happy Birthday my beautiful girl!  I feel like I blinked twice and here you are at two years old.  You are a feisty little girl and so sassy.  You make us giggle with your silliness.  We love watching you dance to what ever song happens to be playing.  You take music very serious, and you close your eyes and feel it.  It's quite a sight to watch.  Life has been so good with you, and you make us all so happy.  We love you to the moon and back!

A Minnie Mouse Birthday Party

Emma's Minnie Mouse birthday party was a success!  Everything turned out so good, and the company was even better!  She's only lucky little lady to have so many people who love her.

My cousin, Abby, decorated Emma's cake.  My touch on the cake were those awesome looking Fruit by the Foot bows. Thank you Pinterest.

A moment captured by my sweet friend.

Once the party was over we went outside and enjoyed the beautiful weather and some family time.  Max was showing Emma how to ride her scooter.  To say she loves her helmet would be an understatement.  She threw a tantrum when we told her she had to take it off to go to bed.

Water table fun means water fight.

Right after this picture, Max filled up a bucket and threw water on me.

Such a great birthday party for our sweet girl.  I can't believe she turns 2 tomorrow.

My Girl

Emma opened her birthday gift from her Grandmom, Grandpa, Uncle and Auntie last night.  When she saw the Elsa gown and crown, she gasped.  Right in that moment I was so giddy being a mommy to a little girl.  I put her into her gown, and she looked down and said, "Ooh wow!" and touched the Elsa pendant.  My heart could have exploded watching her turn into a little princess.

Emma is a tough girl.  She likes to push her brother around, play in the sand, play superheroes, and do all things that Max does.  Ian says she's going to be his little tomboy.  I'm completely fine with that too, but when my rough and tough little girl put on her dress and crown for the first time...it was a special moment that I wish I would have captured in a video.

She held up her dress in her hands and twirled until she was dizzy.  Then she looked at Max and started to chase him around the room.

That's my girl.

Splish Splash

You guys the weather is so amazingly beautiful here in Washington.  I love it! Today we found ourselves at a splash pad with our friends.  The park was awesome.  To say the kiddos had tons of fun would be an understatement.

Look Emma!  I'm going to jump over the whale!

There were older boys climbing the higher rocks and jumping off.  I let Max know he's not to do that...ever.

Could she be anymore sassier? Yeah, probably.

Max wanted to work on his tan...in the shade.

There will be many playdates/picnics at the splash pad this summer.  Oh the fun!!!

Tomorrow Emma has her 2 year wellness checkup.  She's getting some shots as is Max because he needs to be caught up before school.  I can already see two dramatic, crying loudly kiddos having to be calmed down....fun.  AND Emma turns TWO in 3 days.  3 days!

Life Lately

Another month is coming to an end.  I always say this, but time is going by so fast.   We've been pretty busy since getting back from NM.  Max has had tball games, and let me tell you he is getting so good!!  He can hit the ball into the outfield, make stops and tag kiddos out.  It's so cute to watch.  He also stays in his position now and won't go run after the ball if it's not near him.

Emma had my phone and I found this picture along with 10 others that looked exactly like this.

This girl turns TWO on Sunday.  We're having a Minnie Mouse themed party for her.  The red Minnie, because last years party was too much pink.  If you follow me on Instagram, you've seen some of my craftiness going on.

The weather was beautiful today.  When the sun is out, it calls for playing in the water while I'm water the grass.  The giggles.  These are my favorite days.

Such a little stud....

and my sweet girl who was taking her posing seriously.

Hope you are having a great week!

Land of Enchantment

Our trip came and went, way too fast if you ask me.  We had such a good time.  I still can't believe my brother graduated!  Max and Emma had so much fun, and when we were flying home Emma kept asking, "Gramma where are you? Where are you?"  We're happy that they are coming to visit us in June, because we were all sad to come home.  It never gets easier having to say goodbye.  Now, for some pictures to recap our trip!

4 ways to keep your kids entertained at a graduation.  There would have been 5 reasons had I not used all the stickers at Antonio's award ceremony.

He graduated!

All the heart eye emojis.

Graduation selfie, because have you met me? We love taking selfies while on a trip.

When Ian first met my brother, Antonio was 9 years old.

These two are wild things.

A stop at Caliches is a must while in Las Cruces.  Look at all the yummy goodness in this picture.

We took the kiddos to a park near my parent's house, and we saw this sunset.  It really made me miss living in NM.

I never take enough pictures.  Until next time NM.

For My Little Brother

I can vividly remember the day my brother came into the world. From that moment on he changed my world. I was 13, and here was this baby boy who was my little brother.  I can remember his first belly giggles,  when he got baptized, celebrating his first birthday, and so much more.

Then he grew up and would call me "mom" when we were at the store together. It would drive me crazy, and he knew this... I didn't appreciate him or the time I spent with him before I went off to college. He was a pain in the butt, and I was dumb and thought I was too cool.

Now here we are 18 years later and my little brother is graduating from high school. He's a great kid. So freaking smart (he finished third in his class!), and just a good person. He's funny and loves to go on rants. He's caring and is such a great Uncle to Max and Emma.  He' a hard worker and all the awards he got at his award ceremony show just how hard he worked over the last four years of high school.

I'm so proud of you. You have grown up to be such an amazing brother and uncle. I don't care if you're taller than me, you will always be my little brother.  I have a hard time putting into words how much you mean to me and how proud of you I am.  I pretty much just want to cry, and am as I'm typing this.  I can't believe you're graduating, and I still see you as my little brother who came into the world right before my eyes.
“You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself any direction you choose.
You're on your own. And you know what you know.
And YOU are the one who'll decide where to go...”

“You're off to Great Places!
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting,
So... get on your way!”
Dr. Seuss

I love you!

We Have a Graduate

It seems like just yesterday I was taking this guy to his first day of Pre-k....

Now here we are at his last day of pre-k.  How we got here so fast, I don't know.  I think I'll be saying that sentence a lot as Max and Emma grow up.

He would have graduated with his class today, but we're heading to NM for my brother's high school graduation.  His teacher was nice enough to let us watch the dress rehearsal.  I cried.  I started crying on Monday night as I watched him sleep. Then I pretty much couldn't stop.  We watched him walk in with his class and they sang "You Got a Friend in Me" from Toy Story.  All the tears.  It was so adorable.  His teacher then gave him his diploma and cap to wear.  Again, all the tears.

Our preschool graduate.

Fun Moments

Some fun moments captured last week...

Max, Emma and H were playing in the sand trying to build sandcastles.  These three are so cute together.  Emma tries to be just like the boys.  She had so much fun and by the end was completely soaked.

A beautiful day calls for fun in the sprinkler.  This lasted for about 5 minutes, and then they were done.

We met our friends at Kelsey Creek Farm, which we love, and watched animals. Max got a kick out of the goats when they were pooping. Poop happens to be a favorite topic of conversation for Max these days.  So lovely.  Max, Emma and L were having fun wandering around and playing.  We also saw a very large pig named Dixie and Max said, "She's 100 feet tall!"

Emma being the sassy diva that she is.

Waiting to bat! This kid is getting so great at hitting the ball. A few times his hits go into the outfield.

We played 4 games of Uno Moo.  He told me, "Hey Mommy why don't you try harder to beat me."  Sadly, I was trying to beat him.  I won one game.

Best Day

Yesterday was the best day, and I'm totally humming "Best Day" by Tswift as I type this up.   I had opened the gift Max made for me at school earlier in the week because he told me, "I tink you can open it today.  Hey Emma I made something purple for you!"  I sweetly told him that Emma wasn't his mom, and the gift was for me, not Emma.  He quickly replied, "Yeah, but Emma likes purple."  Okay then....

I opened the cutely decorated bag to find this card and a trinket box.  The tears.  When I read the card and looked inside....

My heart exploded.

Yesterday we went to have brunch at Storyville Coffee, which is becoming a favorite spot of ours.  I love the atmosphere, and the words they share.  Love everybody.

That breakfast sandwich was heaven in my mouth.  That iced vanilla latte was the best I've had. Ever.

Waiting for the free airplane cookies for the kiddos.

We went to Trader Joes for some goodies and came across this dog, and the kids loved it.  You would have thought it was a real dog the way they were talking and playing with it.  Both even gave it a kiss goodbye.

We found ourselves at a park where the kids ran wild and had fun.  It was a beautiful park, and so many families were out enjoying the day.

My day ended with Ian cooking me dinner and getting us ice cream cones for dessert.  I may have indulged in a bottle of wine.  I'm paying for it this morning, because the kids decided to wake up just after 6 this morning.

To all mamas and soon to be mamas, I hope your day was special.
