Last Day of School

Here we are on the last day of school for Max and myself.  I can't believe that the year is already over!  We had an amazing year at our school.  For Max, his teacher was hands down the absolute best.  He learned so much this year, made friends, learned to read, and developed a love for school that I hope continues to grow with each year.  This kid genuinely loves school.  He asked so sweetly if after the weekend, school could start again.  He also professed that he wants to be in Kinder with his teacher for the rest of his life.

For me, I was nervous at the beginning of the year.  I had been a SAHM for 3 years.  I was starting teaching again at a new school with new people.  I was sending Emma to daycare to be with strangers so that I could go back to work.  I can't say enough how lucky I am with the school I'm working at.  I've said it before, but I hit the jackpot.  The school is amazing, and I love the people I work with.   I learned a lot this year, made new friends, and got my teaching groove back.  After I had Max, I had lost some of the love I had for teaching.  Well it's back!

I can't say I'm like Max to where I want to the next school year to start after the weekend, but when summer ends I don't think I'll be too upset about it.

Some pictures from Spirit Week, which you probably already saw if you follow me on Instagram. Max had so much fun during the week.  The last day was color day, which I failed to take a picture because they have late start.  I left early and never took a picture.  He wore all read though, and looked super cute.

Tomorrow I don't have to set my alarm!  AND my Mama comes for a visit!!!   Happy Tuesday friends!!

Best Day

Yesterday I hung out with my favorite girl, and we had so much fun!  She was pretty bummed that she couldn't go on a field trip of her own.  We started off our day at the park.  She played her little heart out.  Then we went to get a milk shake, because that goes with being down by the lake. While walking back to the car we stopped to watch the boats.  She wanted to go in one, and was mad when I told her we couldn't because we didn't' have a boat. She angrily told me, "I want a boat!"  Sure things sweet girl.  Next birthday for sure we'll get a boat.

Our second stop was the library.  Normally Max is with us and he leads the way.  Emma had so much fun by herself.  She sat at one of the computers and listened to stories on line.  It was the cutest thing to watch.  Then she picked out 3 books on her own.  Pinkalicious is a new favorite.  Super cute.

Best day with this girl.

Life Lately

Here we are in June.  The countdown until school is over is on people!   May went by fast and furious. I was so busy with work.  Emma Girl turned 3!!  We had a small party for her and her friends, and she had so much fun!  Originally she had wanted a Doc McStuffins party, so I went with  different shades of purple and pink for her party.  Then she wanted a dinosaur party.  She became obsessed with dinosaurs and would talk about them and her dinosaur party.  Goodbye Doc, hello dinos!
I added greens, blues and yellows into the mix.  Stayed up late the night before her party and made dinosaurs galore.   Her roar is still on our door, and she loves to call it her roar.
We went to order her a cake and they didn't make dinosaur cakes, so we went with a background and added our own dinosaurs.  She wanted a chocolate cake with strawberry filling.  We cut into the cake and it was vanilla!  #majorfail   I didn't take pictures of her party. #momfail

The day after her party we went to a friend's unicorn themed party.  Over the weekend we had 3 parties (Max's baseball party, Emma's and friends), and we were so exhausted Sunday afternoon!
Today Max has his very first field trip.  He is so excited and has been talking about it for weeks.  Ian gets to go with him, and I'm a tiny bit jealous.  I get to hang with little lady, and we plan on having some fun of our own.  She wants to go on a field trip too, so we'll be heading to the park and exploring. Should be a fun day for all!
Happy Tuesday!
