Life Lately

I'm so happy this past week is over.  It was a busy one full of meetings, observations, Ian went out of town for an overnight, holiday party, basketball practice and game.  Let's just say today I took a nap on and off for three hours today, and  I loved every sleeping minute.  I'm not sure if I'll be able to sleep tonight, but we'll see.

This week I got a birthday gift from my Mama.  She knows me so well!!  I couldn't wait to drink coffee out of it.  It would have been even more perfect if I would have watched Gilmore Girls while drinking from it, but I did not.  Next time.
Emma girl at school.  She loves her teacher and classmates.  I love getting picture of her like this during the week.  They try and take a picture or two a day to send to parents on their app.  I absolutely love it.
Max had his second practice and first game where they took a score.  Sadly they lost, but Max scored 6 of their points!!  He played so good and got more confident as the game went on.  It was so adorable to watch.  I can't say enough how cute it is to watch Ian coach him.  He has to teach a lesson during practice, and this week it was listening.  He passed out two medals to kiddos who showed that they were great listeners.  Super cute!
"Sparkle" has been having lots of fun around here.  I can't remember if I mentioned here that we can't find the original Sparkle.  We packed him when we moved, and we searched everywhere and he's no where to be found.  So I had to purchase a new one.  Emma loves finding him each morning, and giggles so sweetly when she finds him.  I love it.  It makes mornings fun.  She got a good kick out of him snuggled in her pink blanket reading Pinkalicious.
I have a week and a half left of work.  I'm looking forward to two weeks off, and sleeping in.  It snowed in Washington this past week and all my friends were posting pictures and videos.  Made me kind of jealous.  I have my moments where I really miss WA.  It's crazy to me that at the beginning of the year we were in WA and had no idea that come August we'd be moving across country to GA.  Crazy how life works sometimes.
Have a great week friends!  Stay warm!

Life Lately

I feel like time is not only going by faster, but I have so much going on that it's all a blur.  This coming week alone I have a meeting after school Monday, Tuesday, observation Wednesday, meeting before  and after school Thursday, and a meeting Friday after school.  I'm overwhelmed just thinking of it all, and tired.  Give me all the coffee.

The weekend after Thanksgiving we went out and got ourselves a real tree!!  I was so excited!  It's a new family tradition. The house smells good, and it looks so pretty.  I love coming home after work and only having the Christmas lights on.  It's magical.
Wednesday we had our first tornado warning, and I didn't like it one bit.  I thought we were having a drill, and I said something to a teammate, and she said, "This isn't a drill."  I think my heart stopped.  I wanted nothing more than to be with Ian, Max and Emma.  I was a nervous wreck.  Once it was over and all the kiddos were able to get on the buses to go home, I was ready to leave work and go get Max and Emma.  Everyone else around me was totally fine.  One coworker smiled and said, "Welcome to Georgia!"  No thank you.  I had no idea there were tornadoes here.  I seriously was ready to move right then and there.
Emma had been woken up from nap, so she was a real gem when I picked her up.  Max was totally bummed that he had been in a hallway with no windows.  Ian had to sit in a stairwell for awhile.  I was super happy when I had these two in my arms.
Max started basketball practice this weekend.  Ian is his coach.  It was beyond adorable to watch Ian coach the kids.  All the heart eye emojis.  I tell you, some parents are crazy.  There was one that was a yeller and she yelled the entire game.  It's going to be a long season with her.  This kid is so cute, and I can't wait to watch him improve each week.  Ian has been waiting for him to play basketball since the day he was born!  Go Bulldogs!

Thanksgiving 2016

A little recap a week late.  I can't believe Thanksgiving was just last Thursday.  It feels like it was a month ago.  This past week was the longest week ever.  Ever.

We spent Thanksgiving in Nashville with Ian's cousin who lives there.  Other family from Florida and Alabama were also there.  Max and Emma were in dog heaven because there were 3 dogs there.  Max and Emma took Norman and Nyla for walks daily, sometimes twice.  They want a dog so bad, and after watching how cute they are with the dogs...it kind of makes me want one as well.  Not anytime soon though!

We went and explored Broadway street in downtown Nashville.  It was pretty cool.  We'd walk into any bar and there was live music.  I loved it.  Max and Emma thought it was too loud.  We also went to Opry Hotel (I think that's what it's called) and we met up with my cousin, Lawrence, and his girlfriend.  We walked around inside, and it was beautiful!  It was fully decorated for Christmas.  We took a boat ride, and took in all the prettiness.  It was crazy how impressive this hotel is, and we only saw a part of it.
When we were walking around downtown Nashville we went into a building.  There happen to be Santa taking free pictures with the kids. Max and Emma were super happy to see Santa for the second time in 3 days.  I think we may have one more visit this Christmas season.
Our Thanksgiving feast.
Max didn't want to get in the picture.  Emma was in awe of this tree.  It was huge!
All in all we had a great Thanksgiving trip to Tennessee!  I see more trips there in our future!  I want to go back to watch a hockey game!  Oh, and hello!  I totally binge watched Gilmore Girls over Thanksgiving break as well.  I think all the anticipation and having high hopes of it being so good left me a little disappointed.  It did make me want to watch the series over again from the beginning, so I think I might.
Happy weekend!  I celebrated turning the big 34 yesterday.  Apparently I'm getting old, because I had one drink and I was done.  Sad.
