Life Lately

Here we are on the last day of April.  Crazy!!  I am so excited for the month of May!  The end of school is so close, my sister graduates from high school,  we get to go celebrate with her in NM, Emma turns FOUR! This is going to be a great month!

Life lately has been going by so fast.  Last weekend we ran errands and spent time outside.  We went to Avalon, which is an outdoor shopping area by where we live.  We love it there.  They always have fun events for kids and are so family oriented.  Great place to check out when you come to GA.  Also they have the biggest Chick-Fil-A I've ever seen.  Ginormous!

Max has been obsessed with the National Anthem.  He'll sing it all the time.  He's also into American symbols after a project at school.  So when we see a flag (which is all the time) he'll shout there's a flag!  Then tell us about the stripes and stars.  Every. Time.  This kid is full of information and wants to learn more every day.  He is the most sweetest in the morning, and always gives me a hug and kiss goodbye.  He is the most saltiest when he's tired, and when he's like that he always makes me laugh...which pisses him off even more.  I can't believe he's almost done with first grade!  I'm excited to have him at my school next year.
Emma...oh my Emma Girl.  She is the most caring little girl.  Her heart is so big.   Her teacher told me last week that Emma is the "mama" to the younger kids in her class, and always tries to help them.  She said she wished she could have a classroom full of Emmas. As a teacher and her mom, my heart was a puddle of emotions.  She loves being home, and I think she's the most excited about summer break! Even though she is full of sweetness, she is equally full of sass.  Two mornings last week she had the most epic tantrums over socks.  SOCKS.  She'll stomp her feet and yell.  Her and Max can fight about anything and everything.  It's a talent they share.
We followed trend and got the unicorn drink.  We all shared the sugary goodness, and one was plenty.  It was so sweet, and the blue part was extremely sour.  Max and Emma were in sugar heaven.
Yesterday we went to play tennis.  Max and Emma love it!  The weather was hot and sticky though, so by the end we were all a hot mess.
This was her before playing tennis picture.  I should have taken an after.  She was a sweaty mess who was in need of a nap, and could burst into tears at the sight of an ant.
After watching Moana she'll ask for her hair to be pulled up like Moana. All her hairstyles that she likes she names after the character.  We have the Moana bun, Anna braids and Elsa braid.
Here we are on Sunday.  Ian's going to golf today.  I want to lay on the couch and do nothing.  My allergies are killing me...and really I want to binge watch Famous In Love.  I started watching it at 10 last night.  Bad idea on my part.  I watched 3 episodes and stayed up too late.  Oops.   I will have lots of coffee today!
Happy Sunday friends!  Hope the week to come is a great one for you!

A Case of the Throw Ups

There's nothing like being woken up and groggily trying to help your sick kid at 3:30 in the morning.  My sweet Emma was a hot mess today with a case of the throw-ups, as she says.  You never would have known she was sick with all the smiles she had for me.  She'd get sick, look at me and happily ask, "Okay, can I sit on your lap and watch a cartoon?"  She is the easiest sick patient to take care of.  She's managed to keep liquids down for the past few hours.  Thank goodness.
For Easter we colored eggs, and Max and Emma had brightly colored fingers for the night.  Max was afraid to go to sleep that night because he did not want to wake up and see the Easter Bunny hopping around.   Luckily for him the Easter Bunny is quiet and sneaky and was never spotted by either kid.
So this happened!  I met this lovely mama! I've been reading her blog since Harper was a baby.  The blog world is funny.  You read someone's blog for so long, you feel like you know them.  Even though you really don't.  When I asked Ian if he wanted to go with me he said, "Ummm...no."  He just doesn't get it.
Jessica makes the sweetest prints, which you can find here.  I want to make Emma a gallery wall in her room, and these prints are perfect for the space.  I really want to buy all the prints from her shop!

25 more days of school!!  We just finished our big testing here, and I am so proud of my kids.  They worked so hard. I have mixed feelings about the testing, but that's a post for another day.
Happy Friday Eve!!!!

Max and Emma

Oh these two.....they are the best.  I can't tell you enough that these two make our days so much brighter.  I remember when I was little I always wanted to be a mom.  I'm so glad I was picked to be their mom.  Even when they drive me bananas and I want to drink all the wine.  I wouldn't want it any other way.

This weekend was absolutely gorgeous in GA.  The sun was shining and it was in the 70s.  We went on walks, went to the park and just soaked up our last couple days of Spring Break.  I think we're all excited for Summer vacation in 7 weeks.

Emma Girl.  She never wants me to do her hair.  I'm lucky if she lets me brush it, and when I do if there are any tangles...the drama.  Yesterday she was holding her My Little Pony water bottle, and she smiles at me and tells me, "Take a picture of me Mommy."
Since seeing the Globetrotters for a 3rd time over Spring Break, both kiddos are obsessed.  Obsessed!  All they want to do is play basketball, bounce the ball around the house, try tricks.  Wearing the head band and wrist band make you totally official.
Oh my boy Max.   He runs down the stairs and announces, "Introduciiiiing.....your world famouuuusssssss.....Harlemmmmmmmmm Globetrotterrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrs!!!"  Then Emma and I will cheer and then the show begins.  It's pretty cute.
Today was a Monday.  Emma didn't want me to leave her at school.  I didn't sleep well last night, and needed all the coffee today.  The sun is shining though and it's a beautiful 80 degrees out.  We already walked to the neighborhood park and played in the sun.  Have I mentioned how much I'm loving GA in the spring time?
Happy Monday friends!  Hope it was a great one!

Friday Favorites

I can't believe it's Friday....Spring Break went by too fast.  I love being home with Max and Emma.  Only 35 school days left, but who is counting?? ME!  I'm blogging two days in a row.  Who am I?

I haven't shared my favorites in awhile, so I thought I'd jump on that bandwagon today.

1. Forts.
The kiddos and I made a fort yesterday, and they loved it.  It stayed all the way until dinner time.  They were so quiet and sweet to each other.  This summer we will make more forts.

2. Big Little Lies.
When we moved to GA we signed up for internet service and it was $49 a month.  Then come January it went up to $69 a month.  I called the service and got no where with them.  Ian goes in and talks to someone and walks out with free cable and HBO for a year and our bill down to $40 a month.  He's got mad skills, and I need to know how he does it.  Free HBO leads me to Big Little Lies.  I started watching it on Monday.  I was done by Wednesday morning.  It's. So. Good.  I loved it so much.  I think I'll have to read the book

3. Cinnamon coffee.
So I tired the new almond milk macchiato at Starbucks, and I loved the cinnamon flavor of it.  I came home and made coffee (that didn't cost $4+) and added a sprinkle of  cinnamon.  So. Good.
4. This candle from Anthropolgie is the best.
I've gotten 4 fixes and I've loved them all.  You start off with taking a style quiz, and then your stylist will pick pieces that go with your style profile.  Mine is so good that she's picked pieces that I have in my closet.  I love getting my Stitch Fix box in the mail, and opening it up to see what inside.  So fun.  I also only chose to get Fixes every other month, so it's a treat to myself when I do get one.  Love it! My next one is in May, and I added a note to my stylist to put pieces that I could wear to my sister's graduation party.  Yeah, she's graduating from high school.  #allthetears
I'm going to keep my favorites to 5 today.  I hope you guys are having a great day, and you probably are because it's FRIDAY!  We have a friend in town for the night.  He's on his way to Augusta for the Masters, and I'm so happy we get to see him.  He and Ian worked together in AZ and they haven't seen each other in about 4 years...maybe 5.  Also it's National Beer Day...best day ever?  I think so.
Linking up with Andrea!

Life Lately

Guys!  I know you probably thought I was done with the blog.  I go back and forth telling myself that I'm done blogging.  Then I take pictures and want to share them on our space.  So let's get to it!
2017 hasn't been the kindest year to us, but we always manage to have fun when we can.  Oh and we've been having F-U-N.
We went to Atlanta United FC home opener.  It was their first ever game, and it was a lot of fun.  I'm still a little bitter about soccer and the team that shall remain nameless.  Ian got us tickets and we were there with 55,000 other people cheering on the home team.  The lines to get in were insane.  The field is on the Georgia Tech campus, and it is the perfect venue to watch soccer.  Max and Emma lasted 45 minutes and then we headed home.
That same day Max an Ian enjoyed Monster Jam.  This was Max's 2nd time seeing it, and both him and Ian had fun.  It was a little too loud for Max, even with ear plugs.
A girl and her love for chocolate donuts.
When I saw Max's spring school pictures I said, "Oh my goodness Max!" To which he replied, "I know mommy.  My face looks cute" I can't get over how grownup he looks.  He's just too cute.
St. Patrick's Day is a favorite in our house.  A leprechaun pays Max and Emma a visit and will leave a treat at the end of the rainbow.  This year the leprechaun was crafty and left some sidewalk art.  They got a box of Lucky Charms, bubbles and some stickers.  They were pretty excited!  The only bummer was that it rained the following day and all the art was gone when we went outside.  Emma was not happy.
Spring here in Georgia is so beautiful.  I can't get over it.  The trees bloom white flowers, and every tree I see I say, "Oh!  Look at the pretty tree!"  I think my family gets sick of it, but I can't help it!  We went for a walk one evening and it was picture perfect.
We went to South Carolina to visit family and Ian had a work engagement.  Guys, South Carolina is beyond beautiful, and the trees....breathtaking. We went to Charleston and it was so charming.  The houses were cute and colorful.  I fell in love, and would be perfectly happy if we moved there.
We got around by golf cart in the community our family lives in...Max and Emma want one now.  It made getting around so much fun.  I mean, just look at the picture.  Max and Emma were so bummed about it. :)
We saw the Globetrotters.  I think the kids and I have seen the show 3 times this year.  I love it every time, and we always laugh.  Such a great, family experience.  We were able to meet Hot Shot and Swish. Emma keeps saying she wants to grow up and be a Globetrotter.  The show here in Atlanta Big Easy was here and guy, I met him!!  Big Easy is my favorite and my love for him goes back to the Amazing Race.  To see him in person...I died.
Look at those trees!  Can you imagine sitting by one on a sunny day, reading a book?  Or having a family picnic?  We will be going back to see more of Charleston, because we only saw a glimpse.
This week we are on Spring Break! Yay!  A much needed break for us.  We have Pap-pap and Mum-mum in town visiting, and we took them to Stone Mountain.  It was perfect weather for a day spent outside.  We saw the Easter Bunny, which was the highlight of Max and Emma's day.
I just love this girl.
I just love this boy.  Can you tell he's obsessed with the Globetrotters?

There you have it.  Life Lately.
Happy Wednesday friends!
